COLLEGE STUDENTS

I have spent the majority of my career as a psychologist holding full-time positions in several university counseling centers, including my current full-time position as a senior counseling psychologist at SMU Counseling Services (See “MY PROFESSIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL HISTORY”).  As a psychologist in counseling centers at both private and state universities across the nation, I have provided individual and group psychotherapy, crisis interventions, and consultation services to college students whose mental health concerns (e.g., depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, identity issues, trauma, etc.) are impacting their academic and personal functioning.  As many colleges and universities offer counseling services to their students on campus, I would highly encourage you to first see if your campus offers counseling services to students (which are often free to students) if you are currently in college / university and reading this,  Also based on my experience, many university counseling centers have high demands for services, and thus may only be able to provide you with short-term counseling.  If your institution does not offer counseling services, or even if it does, if you believe you need additional services beyond what your counseling center on campus can provide, please contact me–working with college students is right up in my alley!
